CARING FOR YOUR JEWELRY
With proper care, your jewelry can remain attractive for a long time.
Many factors can influence the condition of your jewelry. In general, careful handling, cleaning and proper storage will help you keep your jewelry looking best.
Always try to protect your jewelry from knocks and scratches. Avoid exposing your jewelry to chemicals, water or other liquid, sunlight and heat/cold. Preferably remove your jewelry when bathing or swimming.
Clean your jewelry when not in use before storing. Use a soft cleaning cloth to avoid causing any fine scratches, and use the correct cleaning agent, e.g. using a silver cleaning solution or silver polishing cloth for cleaning silver jewelry. Make sure to remove any traces of cleaning agent used and keep your jewelry dry and clean after cleaning.
Ideally, store your jewelry in an air-tight container when not in use. Try to keep pieces apart so that they don't rub together or tangle up. Using a plastic zip-lock bag for each piece would be an effective method. Take care to avoid storing in a place with extreme humidity or heat as this may cause tarnishing.
